Open Whisper Systems | Whisper Systems meshes developers, cryptographers, and legal experts in order to produce genuine internet privacy. Transparency is few and far between when concerning online security.

Oculus | Spearheaded by Palmer Luckey, this company is paving the way for Virtual Reality in the public space. The team behind Oculus (and its main attraction: The Rift) consists of developers, psychologists, and even neurologists in order to find out how Virtual Reality affects users, both short and long term.

IAC | InterActiveCorp, the originators of dating sites like OKCupid and its branches, unites web developers, stable-matching algorithm designers, and relationship psychologists, in order to match people with prospective partners online.

Wiivv | The Wiivv is a user-generated shoe insole that is built by podiatrists, computer scientists, and mobile developers . This product is unique in that it allows users to “scan” their own feet using a smartphone; no doctors are necessary for analysis of a user’s gait.

VR for Burn Patient Recovery | Unique due to its ability to counteract the mental trauma derived from severe burns, this video-game-like project (developed in part by computer scientists, skin doctors, and psychiatrists) allows patients to heal in their own way.

Kurv Guitar | This somewhat-silly project enables non-guitarists to become guitarists without the use of an actual instrument. The product requires the knowledge of musicians, sound engineers, and developers. The Kurv Guitar is distinctive because it personifies the air-guitar and spawns some interesting ideas about the future of music technology.
